WHAT WE'VE BUILT

A record of the days we got to spend on somebody else's ground. Not a highlight reel — just what happened, and who let us be part of it.

A Trip To Narnia

Everyone who worked on the path, standing together on it at the end of the day.

Tom and Tracey attend Orchard along with a handful of the Iron Circle members. Due to the constraints that come with having MS, Tracey isn't able to travel or get out of the house as much as she'd like.

The path through their garden had been previously laid out, but was never paved, and Tracey's wheelchair can't traverse the loose ground. We had the chance to come finish it.

So we spent the afternoon grading the base, hauling and spreading the gravel, compacting it down until it was firm enough to roll on, and setting the stone along the edges. One afternoon, start to finish.

We don't travel; however, we'll be taking a trip to Narnia.

— Tom, when a room full of businessmen went around asking where everyone was traveling

That's how they think about it. The backyard can be the Caribbean, or the Bahamas, or Florida, or Narnia — whatever they want it to be that day. It's their reality now, and they're genuinely excited about it.

Tom and Tracey have been through more than most people know about, and they give God the glory for all of it, every time. They're the ones with something to teach here.

We moved gravel. That's all it was. But we got to make that trip a little easier to take, and we were glad to be asked.
